Should I crowd test?

Hi. I'm looking after then QA approach for an app vendor. The internal testing is pretty robust but because they operate in mobile there's the thorny problem of devices, platforms, languages mobile coverage, accessibility etc. In other words the permutations of variables is pretty huge. So I'm thinking of trying to establish a relationship with a crowd testing outfit. Do any of you guys have any experience of any such outfits either from the perspective of having been a client of one or working…See More

Test management plugins for JIRA. Was Zephyr a bad choice?

Hi - This may have been asked before - If so apologies.I'm running the QA function for a consultancy. We have adopted JIRA for sprint management and I (mainly for reasons of expediency) adopted Zephyr as the manual test management tool for the first project. The problem I'm having is that I don't see a way of visually associating tests and bugs to user stories on a sprint (in the way that you can with a sub-task). They all just 'pile up' at the bottom of the sprint board. This means that I have…See More

Pulling it all together

HiThis is a thinly veiled cry for help....My background is in testing for the financial service industries (all the Is dotted - all the Ts crossed). I started testing about 17 years ago by typing the word 'junior' into Jobserve during a lunchbreak in a particularly unedifying IT sales job. It was the height of Y2K panic and I was rung directly by a programme test manager at a bank who hired me on the spot after a 5 minute chat - alas with all those now making a living by certifying what it…See More
